The difference between 5754 aluminum sheet plate and 5083 aluminum sheet plate for tank truck body

The aluminum plates for tank truck bodies are mainly 5 series and 6 series related aluminum products. The main alloys include: 5052 aluminum plate, 5083 aluminum plate, 5754 aluminum plate, 6061 aluminum plate and 6082 aluminum plate.

First, both the 5754 aluminum plate and the 5083 aluminum plate belong to the aluminum-magnesium alloy aluminum plate. The main difference between 5754 and 5083 aluminum sheet is the magnesium alloy content, hardness and elongation rate. The magnesium alloy content of the 5083 aluminum plate is about 4.5%, for 5754 is about 3%.The hardness of 5083 aluminum plate is higher than 5754 aluminum plate, of course, the price of 5083 is also higher than 5754 aluminum plate. Generally, the higher the magnesium alloy content, the higher the hardness, so customers can choose 5754 aluminum plate or 5083 aluminum plate according to actual needs.

5754 aluminum sheet plate belongs to the Almg3 series, and the magnesium alloy content is higher than 5052 aluminum plate. 5754 aluminum plate is a medium-strength aluminum alloy plate, the magnesium alloy content is between 2.6-3.6, it has good anti-rust and corrosion resistance, no color difference on the anodized surface, excellent processability, high strength and weldability. It is widely used in welded structures, storage tanks, pressure vessels, ship structures and offshore installations, automobile manufacturing, and tank trucks.

5083 aluminum sheet plate has high strength, good machinability, corrosion resistance and welding performance. It is widely used in transportation vehicles, such as ships, aircraft, vehicles and pressure vessels (liquid tank trucks, refrigerated trucks, refrigerated containers), etc. 5083-O aluminum plate, the O temper is softer, and the tank lid needs to be bent, and the partition part is also use 5083-O. In addition, some manufacturers also use 5754-H111 aluminum plate to produce tank trucks.
