Enameled wire is the main raw material for products such as motors, electrical appliances and household appliances. Due to its wide application, there are many types of enameled wire. According to different classification methods, it can be divided into different types:
1. Classification by the insulating material of enameled wire
✅ Acetal enameled wire: Acetal enameled wire is one of the earliest varieties developed in the world. There are two types: polyvinyl formal and polyvinyl acetal. Although the temperature resistance grade of this enameled wire is low, it is widely used in oil-immersed transformers due to its excellent high-temperature hydrolysis resistance.
✅ Polyester enameled wire: Polyester enameled wire paint based on dimethyl terephthalate has good heat resistance and mechanical strength. However, due to the poor heat shock resistance of polyester enameled wire and its easy hydrolysis under high temperature and high humidity conditions, the production volume is not much.
✅ Polyurethane enameled wire: Polyurethane enameled wire has direct solderability, high-frequency resistance and dyeability, and is widely used in electronics, electrical appliances and other fields.
✅ Polyesterimide enameled wire: Since the heat resistance is improved by modifying polyester with imide, it is widely used as the winding of small motors. In Europe and the United States, this enameled wire has completely replaced the polyester enameled wire with a single coating.
✅ Polyimide enameled wire: Polyimide is the highest heat-resistant enameled wire paint among organic enameled wires, and its long-term use temperature can reach above 220°C. Polyimide enameled wire has high heat resistance and good solvent and refrigerant resistance. However, its high cost, poor storage stability and toxicity have affected its widespread use. At present, this enameled wire is used in some special occasions, such as coal mine motors, space instruments and meters.
✅ Polyamide-imide paint: Polyamide-imide paint is the most comprehensive enameled wire paint at present, with high heat resistance, mechanical properties, refrigerant resistance and chemical resistance. It is widely used as the topcoat of composite coating enameled wire to improve the heat resistance of composite wires and reduce costs.
✅ Composite coated enameled wire: To improve the temperature resistance level and develop enameled wire for special purposes, composite insulation layers are generally used.
2. Classification by the purpose of enameled wire
✅ General purpose enameled wire (ordinary wire): Mainly used for winding wires in general motors, electrical appliances, instruments, transformers and other working places, such as polyester enameled wire and modified polyester enameled wire.
✅ Heat-resistant enameled wire: Mainly used for winding wires in motors, electrical appliances, instruments, transformers and other working places working in a temperature environment of 180°C and above, such as polyesterimide enameled wire, polyimide enameled wire, polyester enameled wire, polyesterimide/polyamideimide composite enameled wire.
✅ Special purpose enameled wire: Refers to winding wires with certain quality characteristics and used in specific occasions, such as polyurethane enameled wire (straight solderability) and self-adhesive enameled wire.
3. Classification by conductor material of enameled wire
It can be divided into copper wire, aluminum wire and alloy wire.
4. Classification by shape of enameled wire
It can be divided into round wire, flat wire and hollow wire.
5. Classification by insulation thickness of enameled wire
It can be divided into round wire and flat wire/rectangular wire.
