
2024 aluminum alloy is a high-strength aluminum alloy with copper as the main alloying element. It is well-known for its excellent strength and fatigue resistance and is widely used in aerospace and automobile manufacturing. 2024 aluminum sheet has become an important material in automobile manufacturing due to its excellent mechanical properties. Although its corrosion resistance is poor, it can be widely used in automotive structural parts, suspension systems and engine components through proper surface treatment.
2024 aluminum alloy has different mechanical properties under different heat treatment conditions. Commonly used in automobile manufacturing include 2024 O aluminum sheet, 2024 T3 aluminum sheet, 2024 T4 aluminum sheet and 2024 T351 aluminum sheet.

◆ High strength: 2024 aluminum alloy has extremely high strength, especially in the heat-treated state (such as T3 state), and its tensile strength and yield strength are significantly higher than most other aluminum alloys.
◆ Good fatigue properties: The alloy exhibits excellent fatigue strength under repeated loading and is suitable for structural parts that need to withstand high cyclic stresses.
◆ Poor corrosion resistance: Due to its higher copper content, 2024 aluminum alloy has poor corrosion resistance and usually requires surface treatment (such as anodizing or coating) to improve its corrosion resistance.
◆ Good machinability: 2024 aluminum alloy has good machining properties and is suitable for various processing techniques.
Different heat treatment states (or tempering states) give 2024 automotive aluminum plates different mechanical properties, making them suitable for a variety of automotive parts.
2024-O aluminum plate: Annealed state, with the lowest strength, but the best ductility and machinability. Suitable for complex parts that require forming, such as some non-load-bearing body panels.
2024-T3 aluminum plate: After solution heat treatment and natural aging, it has high strength and good fatigue performance. Commonly used in body structural parts and suspension system components, such as frames and suspension arms, which require high strength and fatigue resistance.
2024-T351 aluminum plate: After solution heat treatment, cold working and natural aging, it has the highest strength and good fatigue performance.Suitable for high-stress parts, such as engine parts (such as pistons and connecting rods) and chassis parts, which need to withstand high loads and repeated stresses.
2024-T4 aluminum plate: After solution heat treatment and natural aging, the strength is between T3 and T351, with good comprehensive performance. Suitable for parts that require a balance of strength and ductility, such as some body and chassis structural parts.
